Ah Amália – Living Experience voted Europe's Leading New Tourist Attraction 2025 at the World Travel Awards
The immersive tribute to legendary fado singer Amália Rodrigues, created by SP Entertainment in partnership with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, has gained international recognition for its innovation and cultural excellence.
The gala took place yesterday, October 22, at the Forte Village Resort in Sardinia, and SPE's project, Ah Amália – Living Experience, a partnership with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, won the World Travel Awards prize in the category of Europe's Leading New Tourist Attraction 2025.
Recognized globally as the most respected awards program in the tourism industry, the World Travel Awards celebrates excellence and innovation in all sectors of tourism. Developed by SP Entertainment (part of the SP TV Group) in collaboration with the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, Ah Amália – Living Experience is the first and only immersive experience dedicated to a Portuguese cultural icon, bringing to life the history, music, and emotional depth of Amália Rodrigues and fado.
“These nominations are a huge honor for the SP TV group, which dared to innovate in audiovisual entertainment production in a previously unknown area, with the same excellence and quality as always, and this award is proof of that. It is also recognition of the vast multidisciplinary team that made this experience possible. Portugal should also be proud to see its culture, art, and traditions recognized internationally at the highest level through this immersive and sensory experience. We are very proud and our hearts are full... and Amália would certainly be too!” said Sofia Moura, General Manager of SP Entertainment.
Located in Marvila, Lisbon, Portugal, Ah Amália – Living Experience is the first immersive biographical exhibition dedicated to Amália Rodrigues. More than an exhibition, it is a sensory journey through eight themed rooms that awaken all the senses — hearing, sight, emotion, and imagination.
Soon, Ah Amália – Living Experience On Tour will take the exhibition across the country. Maintaining the creative core and immersive narrative, this modular traveling version allows more audiences to connect with Amália's story. The first stop will be in Viana do Castelo on November 27, the anniversary of fado's recognition as Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO.
