Ah Amália marks international recognition from the World Travel Awards

On December 26, a ceremony was held in Marvila to celebrate the International Award for Europe's Leading New Tourist Attraction, awarded by the World Travel Awards to Ah Amália – Living Experience.

The ceremony was attended by the Minister of Culture, Youth, and Sports, Margarida Balseiro Lopes, the President of the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, Vicente Rodrigues, Sofia Moura, Director-General of SPE / Ah Amália, as well as actors Manuela Couto and Virgílio Castelo.

The moment was marked by a live Fado performance, as part of the partnership with Mesa de Frades, starring fado singer Ana Sofia Varela, accompanied on the Portuguese guitar by Pedro de Castro and on the viola by André Ramos.

This international distinction recognizes the cultural and innovative value of the experience, dedicated to the legacy of Amália Rodrigues. The exhibition is also on display at Alfândega do Porto and in an itinerant format through Ah Amália – Living Experience On Tour, currently in Viana do Castelo until December 31.
