LUA VERMELHA: NOVA GERAÇÃO hits screens later this year

OPTO SIC and Prime Video are announcing LUA VERMELHA: NOVA GERAÇÃO for 2025, the long-awaited return of one of the most striking series on Portuguese television. Inspired by the universe that won over thousands of fans in 2010, this new generation promises to maintain the original DNA, now with a more up-to-date approach, capable of crossing borders and launching new talent for the international market.

Still in Sintra, and after 16 years, the quiet life of Afonso (Rui Porto Nunes) and Isabel (Mafalda Luís de Castro) is shaken when their daughter, Sofia, finds herself at the centre of a new supernatural threat. With a special gift and an unknown connection to an ancient war, Sofia will have to uncover hidden secrets and face a dark force that could destroy humanity. With danger looming, her parents can no longer hide the truth from her.

Recording of LUA VERMELHA: NOVA GERAÇÃO, a series produced by SPi, will begin shortly and the premiere will be exclusively on OPTO, SIC's streaming platform, and Prime Video.

The nationwide casting, which took place this June, was a real success, attracting more than 2 thousand applications in just a few days, with an enthusiastic response from young people aged between 16 and 25. The winner will be announced very soon.
