“Corazón de Oro”: Mexican Adaptation of CORAÇÃO D’OURO Premieres March 2 on Las Estrellas

Corazón de Oro, the Mexican adaptation of the Portuguese hit CORAÇÃO D’OURO, originally produced by SP Televisão for SIC, premieres on March 2 on Las Estrellas, part of the TelevisaUnivision group.

Produced by Pedro Ortiz de Pinedo, the new version will span 80 episodes and features a leading cast including Mayrín Villanueva, Gabriel Soto and Gala Montes, well-established names in Mexican television drama.

The story unfolds around family secrets, justice and loyalty. At its center is Luz (Mayrín Villanueva), a determined woman whose life revolves around protecting her daughter, Catalina (Gala Montes). Their stability is shaken when Antonio (Sergio Klainer), Luz’s former employer, includes them in his will shortly before his death, in an attempt to atone for a long-buried family secret that caused years of suffering. The stakes rise dramatically when Catalina becomes involved in a murder case, forcing Luz to face an impossible moral choice: protect her daughter at any cost or allow justice to take its course.

The launch of Corazón de Oro marks another step in the international expansion of Portuguese storytelling, which continues to gain traction through adaptations across global markets. The original production, CORAÇÃO D’OURO, was one of SP Televisão’s major successes in Portugal, earning strong ratings and critical acclaim, and cementing its place as one of the most defining dramas of its generation.
