Synopsis
There's no greater force than the love for a child...
After the tragic death of her husband Henrique, Vitória intends to shield her three children from Manuel, her father-in-law, by keeping them away from his bad influence and prove that he is a criminal. When she defends herself from a vile attack by Sérgio, her brother-in-law, Vitória ends up in jail and loses custody over her three children to her in-laws.
Two years later, Vitória is out and her sole purpose is to get Afonso, Matilde and Francisco back, but she soon discovers that her father-in-law has managed to turn her children against her and will do anything to keep her away from the Mendonça family.
With Jorge's support, a respected and influential lawyer in the city and her first true love, Vitória will try to regain custody over her children and expose her father-in-law in the process. For them, she's willing to endure any humiliation and fight to expose the lies, the secrets and the betrayals of the patriarch, thus bringing down the Mendonça empire.
