A GREATER DESTINY premieres on September 14 on SIC, OPTO and Disney+

On September 14, the new telenovela produced by SP Televisão, A GREATER DESTINY, premieres on SIC, OPTO and Disney+ — an intense story of love, loss, secrets and reunions, where lives and destinies unexpectedly intertwine.

The novela follows the story of Lúcia (Sara Barradas), a humble woman who believes she lost her daughter at birth, unaware that the baby was sold by her own stepmother to a wealthy family. Eleven years later, Lúcia crosses paths with Matilde (Luísa Bacalhau), a young girl in danger whom she manages to save. This encounter leads her to Eduardo (Diogo Amaral), the child’s adoptive father, who later hires Lúcia as his daughter’s nanny — unaware that he is bringing mother and daughter face to face once again.

A GREATER DESTINY features a stellar cast, including Sara Barradas, Sofia Ribeiro, Diogo Amaral, José Mata and Carolina Carvalho, among others. Luísa Bacalhau and Diana Ginja are part of the children’s cast.

The novela is adapted by Inês Gomes and directed by Manuel Amaro da Costa, Hugo Xavier, Roberto Roque and Iva Areias. Production is overseen by Francisco Barbosa, with Joaquim Horta, Inês Rosado and Luísa Fidalgo responsible for casting, and Pedro Ferreira serving as Director of Photography.
