A GREATER DESTINY Wins Over Portuguese Audiences on Premiere Night
The new telenovela produced by SP Televisão for SIC, Opto and Disney+ premiered yesterday, 14 September, winning over audiences from the very first minute. The premiere secured the top spot with 1,278,943 viewers, achieving a 7.7% rating and an 18.8% audience share.
The premiere was marked by a special event featuring a screening of the first episode at the Francisco Pinto Balsemão Building, bringing together representatives from SIC, SP Televisão and Disney+, as well as a large part of the cast.
The event was attended by leading cast members Sara Barradas, Diogo Amaral, Sofia Ribeiro, José Mata and Luisa Bacalhau, who were joined by fellow actors whose characters help bring the story to life.
Cast members and guests watched the first episode with great emotion on a night that culminated in excellent audience figures, further reinforcing the success and quality of SP Televisão’s productions.
A GREATER DESTINY is an adaptation of the Turkish drama Hicran, by Mehmet Uyar, adapted for Portuguese television by Inês Gomes. The production is led by director Manuel Amaro da Costa, with Francisco Barbosa serving as Production Director.
With a strong ratings performance on its premiere and an outstanding cast, A GREATER DESTINY once again establishes itself as one of SIC’s major productions for this year, strengthening its partnership with SP Televisão and confirming audiences’ appetite for stories with a strong emotional and human dimension.
