A PROMESSA Expands International Footprint, Strengthening the Global Reach of Portuguese Fiction

The telenovela A PROMESSA, produced by SP Televisão for SIC, continues to grow its international presence, reaching new territories and reinforcing the visibility of Portuguese storytelling on the global stage.

The latest premiere took place in Hungary, where the series has joined the programming lineup of Duna under the title Az ígéret ára. At the same time, A Promessa has also launched in Israel on Dori TV, where it is now airing in prime time.

Adapted from the Turkish format Zalim Istanbul, A PROMESSA follows the intertwined journeys of two families bound by a shared past yet shaped by very different realities. Through conflict, secrets, and emotionally charged relationships, the narrative unfolds into a compelling web of events that continues to resonate with diverse audiences.

Its international performance reflects the growing demand for Portuguese content and highlights SP Televisão’s ability to develop high-quality fiction with strong global appeal.

As part of this expansion strategy, SIC and SP Televisão were present at Content Europe, held in Lisbon from April 21 to 23, where they showcased several recent titles to international industry professionals. Among the highlights were the telenovelas PÁGINAS DA VIDA and VITÓRIA, underscoring the diversity and competitiveness of Portuguese production.
