Laura Dutra Confirmed for the Role of Nina in AVENIDA PORTUGAL

Laura Dutra has been officially confirmed as the lead in AVENIDA PORTUGAL, SIC’s new major drama series produced by SP Televisão. She was chosen to play the role of Rita/Nina in the Portuguese adaptation of the Brazilian telenovela Avenida Brasil. The actress thus joins José Condessa, who had already been announced to play Jorginho.

For Daniel Oliveira, SIC’s General Director of Entertainment, this choice reinforces the channel’s commitment to giving opportunities to a new generation of actors. “Laura has the talent, sensitivity, and determination we’re looking for to take on this challenge,” he says. The actress, for her part, makes no secret of her enthusiasm, revealing that the original version left a lasting impression on her during her teenage years and reflects her family’s connection to Rio de Janeiro. “Being able to bring Nina/Rita to life in the Portuguese version is a huge challenge that I approach with the utmost respect, dedication, and enthusiasm,” confesses Laura Dutra.

With pre-production work on AVENIDA PORTUGAL already underway, Jorge Queiroga is directing the series, while Bruno Oliveira is serving as production manager. As for the adaptation of the original telenovela’s script, it is credited to Pedro Barbosa Silva and Ana Lúcia Carvalho.
