Madalena Almeida and Ana Sofia Martins Join the Cast of AVENIDA PORTUGAL
The two actresses are the latest additions to the cast of AVENIDA PORTUGAL, the new production by SP Televisão for SIC, which adapts TV Globo’s hit telenovela Avenida Brasil for Portuguese audiences.
Madalena Almeida will play Débora, a character originally portrayed by Nathália Dill, and will be romantically paired with José Condessa. Her storyline will be marked by challenges and romantic conflicts. Her participation in AVENIDA PORTUGAL marks her second consecutive role in a Portuguese adaptation of a TV Globo telenovela, following her portrayal of Nanda in Chapters of Life, also produced by SP Televisão for SIC.
Meanwhile, Ana Sofia Martins will play Zezé, the housekeeper to Carminha and Tufão, a charismatic and iconic character in the story. This will be her first telenovela for SIC, although she has previously worked with SPi (Grupo SPTV) on the series CODEX 632, produced for RTP and Globoplay.
Bringing together some of the most acclaimed talents in Portuguese television drama, AVENIDA PORTUGAL already features a cast that includes Margarida Vila-Nova as Carminha, Ricardo Pereira as Tufão, Laura Dutra as Nina, Afonso Pimentel as Max, and Sara Matos as Suelen.
Filming for AVENIDA PORTUGAL is scheduled to begin in November in Lisbon, marking another step in the commitment of SP Televisão and SIC to Portuguese television drama.
