Ricardo Pereira to play Tufão in AVENIDA PORTUGAL

The secret is out regarding one of the biggest bets for Portuguese television in the coming months. Ricardo Pereira has been confirmed to play the role of Tufão in AVENIDA PORTUGAL, a telenovela produced by SP Televisão for SIC, joining previously announced stars Laura Dutra and José Condessa.

This official announcement ensures the actor's return to Portuguese screens after playing Vicente in The Last Will. The role of Tufão, originally portrayed by Brazilian actor Murilo Benício, will represent one of the greatest challenges in Ricardo Pereira's career.

Daniel Oliveira, General Manager of Entertainment at SIC, justifies the choice highlighting the actor's "talent, experience, and energy." In turn, Ricardo Pereira admits the invitation brings "great responsibility", revealing that he closely witnessed the birth of the original production in Rio de Janeiro.

Currently in pre-production, AVENIDA BRASIL is directed by Jorge Queiroga, with production management by Bruno Oliveira. The adaptation of the original telenovela is written by Pedro Barbosa Silva and Ana Lúcia Carvalho.
