VITÓRIA, produced by SP Televisão for SIC, is preparing to make its Canadian debut, marking another significant step in its international journey. The telenovela has been acquired by OMNI Television, where it is scheduled to premiere in November, bringing Portuguese drama to new audiences.
The sale represents a new milestone for the production and further strengthens the international presence of SP Televisão's content, at a time when portuguese drama continues to expand into new markets worldwide.
Adapted from the acclaimed Turkish series Gülperi, from Tims & Global Agency, VITÓRIA follows the story of a woman who discovers that, following the death of her father-in-law, her husband, a criminal, is willing to do whatever it takes to take control. In an attempt to protect her children, Vitória ends up in prison and loses custody of them. Two years later, she begins a determined fight to win them back, with the support of João, a brilliant lawyer and her first love, while confronting Manuel Mendonça in a bid to reunite her family and bring the truth to light.
The Canadian acquisition comes at a particularly significant moment in the telenovela's international journey. VITÓRIA is part of SIC's current international distribution catalogue and will also be showcased at MIPCOM, one of the world's leading markets for the international television and audiovisual content industry.
For international distribution, the telenovela has been restructured into three seasons of 77, 39 and 24 episodes, respectively, as part of a strategy designed to adapt the format to the needs of different international markets.
The international expansion of VITÓRIA further reinforces the reach of drama produced by SP Televisão and highlights the ability of portuguese productions to cross borders and connect with new platforms, broadcasters and audiences worldwide.
