Synopsis
Recover the church, the faith, and Portuguese pride...
In this third season, Tiago faces his greatest challenge. As a priest, he must win back the border village of Ribeira Sonsa, a picturesque Portuguese community that, due to historical obsessions and a series of bizarre natural events (a flash flood changed the course of a river and destroyed its centuries-old church), now believes it has the right to become part of Spain.
The people of Ribeira Sonsa dream of having a King instead of a President, taking afternoon siestas, paying less for petrol, and enjoying what they see as the many perks of being Spanish. Tiago is entrusted with the mission of restoring the church, rekindling the villagers' faith, and reviving their Portuguese pride—but that is only the beginning. He must also save his mother from a dangerous and highly vindictive criminal organisation... or perhaps not.
