Sara Matos is back on primetime telenovelas in AVENIDA

SIC has just confirmed Sara Matos’s return to Portuguese television in AVENIDA PORTUGAL, where she will portray Suelen, one of the most irreverent and memorable characters in the telenovela produced by SP Televisão. It’s worth noting that the actress has previously taken on leading roles in other productions, standing out in hit telenovelas such as More Than Love, Tangled Lives, and, more recently, taking on the challenge of playing triplets in The Secret.

Daniel Oliveira, SIC’s General Director of Entertainment, made no secret of his enthusiasm for this return: “It’s a joy to work with Sara again. We know the dedication with which she approaches each character and her desire to challenge herself (…). We wanted this reunion to happen with a project that would excite her and give her room to surprise us. Suelen is the perfect character for that.”

For Sara Matos, this role combines professional responsibility with fond memories, as she admits to being a fan of the project ever since the original telenovela aired: “I’m so happy about this return! SIC is like family to me (...) Suelen is one of those characters, but it’s also a trip down memory lane because Avenida Brasil was a telenovela I followed with great enthusiasm from the very beginning! I’m really looking forward to bringing her to life, but I’m also aware of the responsibility.”

With this confirmation, the actress joins one of the most prestigious casts in Brazilian television drama in recent years. The SP Televisão production has already confirmed the participation of José Condessa (as soccer player Jorginho), Laura Dutra (as the vengeful Nina), Ricardo Pereira (Tufão), Margarida Vila-Nova (the main villain Carminha), and Afonso Pimentel (Max).
